FASE Certification – Upcoming Call for Applications

The dates for the 2026 FASE certification cycle will be announced shortly.

During 2025, the FASE Certification Working Group worked intensively to further develop and strengthen the certification process. This work will continue throughout 2026, which will be dedicated to the development and implementation of guidance documents and supporting resources that applicants can use during the certification process. In parallel, this period will be used to define and establish a structured framework for future re-certification.

The overarching aim is to strengthen preparatory support for applicants by providing clearer expectations, more consistent guidance, and a more structured pathway toward certification.

The forthcoming period will also be used to build and strengthen a network of FASE-certified forensic anthropologists, promoting professional exchange, collaboration, and peer support for both Level 1 and Level 2 certified professionals.

The application deadline for the 2026 cycle is therefore planned later than usual, in June 2026.

The dates for the written examination are currently under consideration and will be announced by the end of January. The practical examinations will be held in 2027 in Coimbra, Portugal. This timeline is intended to ensure that applicants have sufficient time to prepare their documentation and examination components in accordance with FASE standards.

Further details regarding preparatory resources will be communicated as soon as they become available. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or require clarification regarding the application documentation.
